● Netmiko Guardian - the first product from Netmiko Enterprise
Meet Netmiko Guardian.
Netmiko Guardian is the deterministic layer between your AI clients and the network. The AI reasons. Guardian authorizes access, manages the connections, executes allowed commands, and logs actions. Built on Netmiko, the open-source library your engineers rely on. In active development, with early access coming soon.
Your AI client asks. Guardian decides what reaches the network, executes it, and logs every step.
port-recovery.You stay in control. Not your AI.
Your teams want AI-assisted troubleshooting. You don't want an LLM with enable-mode running wild across your infrastructure.
● Guardrails
Default-deny, security by design
Strict separation of the AI-client from the deterministic Netmiko Guardian layer. Guardian manages the inventory, obtains the credentials, establishes and manages network connections, and logs/audits its actions. Every network command passes an allow/deny policy; configuration changes are rejected.
● Auditability
Every request is recorded
Who connected, what they asked, what was allowed, what was refused. All in a central audit log. AI network usage becomes reviewable and governable, not something lurking in the shadows.
● Central control
A central AI-gateway, controlled by IT
Instead of leaked credentials and unfettered AI-network access where your uptime and network stability depend on the day-to-day whims of the current LLM, you execute a centralized AI-gateway with independent auditing, security rules, and access control.
● Ticket enrichment
From alert to answer in one minute.
AI-assisted network information gathering for troubleshooting, wrapped in security guardrails. Read left to right.
A ticket or alert comes in
Approved show commands run
Relevant context is gathered
The LLM interprets the evidence
An informed diagnosis lands back
Your ticketing or monitoring system flags a VLAN or reachability problem, the usual morning surprise.
Netmiko Guardian runs only pre-approved, read-only commands against the relevant devices.
Device state, interface status and network context are collected, the evidence an engineer would gather by hand.
The gathered state is fed back to your AI of choice for reasoning, the AI never touches the devices directly.
Likely cause and supporting evidence are returned to the operator or written straight into the ticket.

● Capabilities
What you can put it to work on.
Netmiko Guardian is built for the work network teams do every day. These are the kinds of questions it is designed to answer, each one inside the guardrails you set.
Troubleshoot
When something breaks
- Diagnose bad network connections
- Analyze network outages
- Update network tickets automatically
Audit
When you need certainty
- Check devices for known configuration issues
- Compare source of truth to actual network state
- Flag incorrect firewall configurations
Report
When you need the numbers
- Report on device uptime
- Report on routing stability
- Report on OS versions across the fleet
Sensitive work can run against a local model, so configuration data never leaves your environment. Netmiko Guardian is in active development; capabilities arrive as the product matures.
